REAL School is a philosophy of resilience, applied as a personal mindset, that is directed to promote authentic education. Targeted primarily to adolescent students and everyone who supports them, it advocates for one's ability to learn with purpose and sustain thought ownership.

Through introspection and trusted relationships, it prioritizes individual accountability, preparation, and control. Overcoming distraction and defeat, the goal is to help each student discover their natural path to a persistent cycle of motivation, meaning, and momentum.

Goal 1: Website + Discussion Forum

Goal 3: Community Podcast

Months prior to the brainstorms that led me to the official concept of REAL School, and even further ahead of my efforts as an aspiring author, I have wanted to operate a community-based Podcast. Podcast plans are still in the works, but of course there is no shortage of REAL School connections to be explored with in-depth discussion. The intended weekly episode schedule will likely have us recording on Fridays and releasing on Saturdays. The current target for the official REAL School Podcast launch is early November 2023. Podcast guests may include Parents, Students, School Administration, Teachers, Student Mentors, Coaches, and Community Leaders. Podcast updates and details will be provided on this website as well as social media in the weeks leading up to its official launch.

Goal 2: Student Support Book Series

As of mid-Summer 2023, I have written half (3 Chapters) of My 1st Book: "Finding Purpose with Adolescent Education". I intend to finish the remaining chapters by mid-Fall and step forward into publishing. While I've already built a good connection with a local publisher, it's unclear at this time as to how this book will be marketed. Designed as an interactive workbook, its intended audience will be adolescent students and those who support them. Families and/or School Staff will be encouraged to present this book as a worthy option to help students reflect and direct their own paths to success. Ultimately, my plan is to write a series of at least 3 REAL School books. Each would be designed as its own perspective to support the healthy development and mindful preparation of Today's students.

Goal 4: In-Person + Online Courses

As a living extension of the REAL School student support book(s), I am going to design a course framework that cultivates each student's desire to succeed into a sustained sense of authentic purpose. Intended for students in Grades 7-10, with class sizes of 15-20, sections of this course would run on Saturdays and Sundays in Minneapolis Libraries and on Google Meet. Family and Friends will be welcome to observe courses on behalf of the students. Contrary to expectations of most traditional schools, an actual REAL School course is meant to be an uplifting experience based in objective logic, self-accountability, and practical preparation. Course sign-ups should be available on this website by January 2024, and actual course dates should begin by mid-February. A full course would be 8 Weeks, running approximately 1.5 hours each session.
